About German Brass
The formation German Brass unites outstanding brass players from Germany, each of whom is one of the best in his or her field. Together they are world-class and offer unique musical enjoyment. What the alchemists of the Middle Ages tried in vain, the musicians succeed in doing together: they turn brass into gold, gold for the ears of the audience. Whether they play the moving Bach, the powerful Wagner or modern evergreens: Their sound hits the heart of even the most demanding audience. The musicians have been travelling the world for decades and the list of cities, countries and concert halls in which they perform is almost endless. They play the most important concert halls in the world and their CDs reflect the brilliance of their playing.
German Brass' involvement in the Swiss Chamber Music Festival 2021 goes back to the "Chappeli Konzerte Grenchen" in 2019: this is where German Brass trumpeter Matthias Höfs and SCMF artistic director Christine Lüthi met for the first time. The musician played an intimate counterpart in Grenchen to the pageantry with which the ensemble is commonly associated. And showed that the members of German Brass have not only kept their feet on the ground, but also appreciate it. To be able to welcome them to Adelboden as soloists and as teachers is a privilege that the Swiss Chamber Music Festival is happy to share with the next generation of brass players and a broad audience.
