Music lovers appreciate it for its acoustics: the late Gothic church was built in 1433 and is also ideal for concerts with smaller formations due to its size. The church, which has been reformed since the 16th century, is the ‘heart’ of the Swiss Chamber Music Festival - the majority of our concerts take place here.

The Badi Lounge Frutigen restaurant is the number 1 meeting place in the Kandertal valley. As the headquarters of the KanderKultur association, the restaurant with its stage is the venue for many concerts. Its capacity multiplies when outdoor concerts are possible. KanderKultur has been an artistic partner of the SCMF since 2021.

From a classroom to an unconventional concert venue: the Frutigen Woodworking College, which opened in the summer of 2017, is hosting the SCMF for the third time. In its opening year, it immediately hosted ‘Swiss Skills’, the Swiss vocational championships for carpenters. This year, it is time for music once again, and for the finalists of the ORPHEUS Swiss Chamber Music Competition.

A joyful return: the first concert took place in the beautiful three-storey ideas workshop of Künzi+Knutti AG Adelboden in 2022, and the second is scheduled for 2025. Generous window fronts provide plenty of light and the wood used creates a timeless cosiness. A very special concert venue!
